Job summary

Waterloo Lodge School is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support students aged 11–17 with ASD and complex needs. You’ll work in classrooms, small groups and one-to-one settings, helping learners overcome barriers and achieve progress.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
• Experience in education, care, youth work, coaching, or mental health support is beneficial.
• A genuine passion for helping students succeed.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students in the classroom, in small groups and one-to-one.
• Building positive relationships to help students feel safe and ready to learn.
• Working with teachers to deliver engaging and personalised learning experiences.
• Encouraging independence, confidence, communication and social development.
• Supporting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing with a calm approach.
• Assisting with enrichment activities, outdoor learning and life skills opportunities.
