Job summary

Financial Ombudsman Service is recruiting an Learning and Development Senior Coordinator in London. The role is a fixed-term 12-month contract, 35 hours per week, with a hybrid working pattern and a base salary from £28,421.

You will coordinate training sessions, maintain L&D records in Workday, manage budgets and supplier relationships, and provide admin support for evaluations and reporting. A strong IT proficiency and L&D interest are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a customer-focused role within HR/L&D preferred.
  • Strong IT skills with MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Teams.
  • Ability to manage learning programmes and paperwork in Workday or similar systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate in-person and virtual workshops and learning sessions.
  • Maintain L&D documentation and reports, including data capture.
  • Serve as main point of contact for L&D inquiries and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate on-site training logistics: travel, venues, bookings, equipment.
  • Create and distribute learning materials and track attendance.

Learning and Development Senior Coordinator

Contract: fixed term contract 12 months

Working hours: 35 hours per week is full time. Where possible, we are open to considering part time/flexible working patterns.

Salary: From £28,421

Location: London, Exchange Tower - Hybrid

Reporting to: Academy Manager

What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate in-person and virtual workshops, training sessions and a range other learning solutions
  • Support the development and maintenance of L&D documentation and reports, including data capture
  • Serve as a central point of contact for L&D related enquiries, providing timely and accurate information to stakeholders through Workday as needed.
  • Coordinate logistics for on-site training, including travel arrangements, venue bookings, hotel bookings and training room booking and equipment setup.
  • Support the creation and distribution of learning materials and resources, ensuring accessibility, relevance to Learning & Development objectives, and attendance logging
  • Communicating changes and updates to stakeholders as required, for example rescheduling courses.
  • Coordinate with external partners and vendors to procure necessary resources and services for delivery.
  • Assist in the management of budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Processing external training bookings via invoicing or corporate card.
  • Provide administrative support for the evaluation and assessment of learning interventions and programmes, collating feedback and generating reports on a regular basis.
  • Act as a liaison between the L&D Academy team and other internal departments to facilitate smooth delivery of external and internal programmes.
Minimum Criteria

Proven experience working within a customer focused role, preferably within an HR Team Highly organised and a strong communicator with good IT skills - MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Copilot etc. Knowledge of reporting processes Analytical and accurate with a good attention to detail - adaptable and innovative approach to problem solving. Experience of working in a Learning and Development environment, or a genuine interest in developing a career in Learning and Development, with a willingness to learn and build knowledge of L&D practices and approaches.

  • Ability to contribute ideas and suggestions for improving processes and enhancing the overall effectiveness of coordination activities.
  • Experience of maintaining accurate records of project activities, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible for reference.
