Job summary

The Financial Ombudsman Service is seeking a Solutions Architect to translate business needs into clear, actionable technical solutions. This permanent role is based in London with a hybrid pattern, asking you to be in the office at least four days every fortnight.

You will lead cross-functional teams, develop solution visions and high-level designs, and collaborate with delivery to ensure alignment with the design intent and governance.

Qualifications

  • Experience designing solutions across the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of application development, integration, and cloud platforms.
  • Skilled in producing solution documentation, including vision and high-level designs.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with ability to lead discussions with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity.
  • Curious and open-minded about leveraging existing technology landscape to deliver outcomes.
  • Deep expertise in the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem, with broad understanding of other contributing technologies.

Solutions Architect

Contract: Permanent

Working hours: 35 hours per week is full time. Where possible, we are open to considering part time/flexible working patterns.

Salary: £80,000-90,000 dependent on experience

Location: London

Reporting to: Chief Architect

Our permanent hybrid policy sees us all working at least four days across a fortnight in the office and we enjoy both flexibility and collaboration.

What we’re looking for as a minimum criterion
  • Experience designing solutions across the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of application development, integration, and cloud platforms.
  • Skilled in producing solution documentation, including solution visions and high-level designs.
  • Evidence of excellent communication and facilitation skills – you are recognised for leading discussions with business and technology stakeholders and can translate technical to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity.
  • You are curious and open open-minded in exploring how best to leverage the existing technology landscape to deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes.
  • You don’t need to be an expert in every technology we use—but you should bring deep expertise in the Microsoft Power Platform eco‑system, along with a broad understanding of how the others contribute to end-to-end solutions.
