Job summary

Stantec currently seeks a Principal Process Engineer to lead clean water process design across UK projects, from concept to implementation. You will collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical and environmental specialists, mentoring engineers and guiding resource optimisation to deliver robust, sustainable water solutions.

The role offers hybrid working, engagement with national teams, and opportunities to influence bids, frameworks, and long-term water resilience strategies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical or Process or related discipline.
• Significant clean water or wastewater process engineering experience.
• Strong design, calculations and mass balance capability.
• Proven leadership across multidisciplinary projects.
• Understanding UK water industry standards and challenges.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Experience mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of clean water process solutions.
• Develop and review process designs, mass balances and specs.
• Provide technical leadership on projects and ensure robust solutions.
• Support water resource projects including storage and recycling.
• Contribute to optimization of existing assets and testing.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical and environmental teams.
• Build client relationships and contribute to bids and programmes.
• Mentor engineers within the team and share best practices.
• Collaborate with global teams to apply international experience.
