Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to lead clean water process design across a range of UK projects, including new facilities and asset optimization. You will work within a national water team, guiding concept through to implementation and mentoring junior engineers.

Role requires strong technical leadership, experience in mass balances and hydraulic assessments, and a deep understanding of UK water industry standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical or Process or related discipline.
• Significant experience in clean water or wastewater process engineering.
• Strong technical experience across clean water treatment processes and design.
• Experience developing and reviewing process calculations, mass balances and hydraulic assessments.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership on complex projects.
• Strong understanding of UK water industry challenges and best practice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring and supporting engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of clean water process engineering solutions across projects.
• Develop and review process designs, calculations, mass balances and hydraulic assessments.
• Provide technical leadership ensuring robust, practical, sustainable solutions.
• Support strategic water resource projects including water transfer and storage.
• Contribute to optimization of existing assets via testing and assessments.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, environmental and hydraulic teams.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to bids and frameworks.
• Mentor engineers and develop technical capability within the team.
• Collaborate with global teams to share knowledge and apply international experience.
