Job Description
What to Expect in This Role
- Training & Knowledge Sharing: Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and seminars for lawyers and clients on key topics and emerging trends in real estate finance.
- Client-Facing Contributions: Produce articles, contribute to client briefings, and support business development through pitches and proposals.
- Global Collaboration: Work with overseas offices to develop jurisdictional handbooks covering key practicalities across different regions.
- Precedent Development & Management: Draft, update, and maintain a comprehensive suite of real estate finance precedents (e.g., facility agreements, security documents, fee letters, completion undertakings, subordination deeds, and ancillary documents).
- Oversee borrower-side mark-ups and ensure all precedents remain current and fit for purpose.
- Lead reviews and automation projects, integrating precedents with legal tech tools.
- Knowledge Dissemination: Assist with managing know-how across the wider Real Estate division and collaborate with legal tech teams to implement and train on new tools and automation processes.
The Successful Applicant
Your Areas of Knowledge and Expertise
- UK‑qualified solicitor with significant post‑qualification experience in real estate finance.
- Strong technical expertise in real estate finance transactions, including drafting and negotiating facility agreements and security documentation.
- Demonstrable experience in knowledge management, precedent development, and legal training.
- Excellent drafting, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts.
- Familiarity with legal technology and automation tools is highly desirable.
- Proactive, collaborative, and able to work independently to drive projects forward.
- Experience delivering training and developing materials for lawyers and clients.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of quality and accuracy.
