Job summary

Nexus HR Limited is assisting a well established joinery company in recruiting an experienced Joinery Workshop Manager to lead the workshop and sit on the management team. You will own production, manage client expectations and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality.

You will read drawings, plan workloads, monitor quality and safety, and develop processes to boost productivity.

Qualifications

• Strong background within joinery or bespoke joinery manufacturing.
• Previous workshop management or senior supervisory experience.
• Confident dealing directly with clients.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Commercially aware with a good understanding of project deadlines and costs.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Able to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Take a key role within the senior management team.
• Manage the day-to-day running of the joinery workshop.
• Lead, motivate and manage the workshop team.
• Manage client expectations throughout the production process.
• Provide clients with clear updates on progress and timescales.
• Plan workloads and ensure project deadlines are achieved.
• Work closely with clients, project managers and the wider management team.
• Read and interpret drawings and project specifications.
• Monitor quality, productivity and workshop performance.
• Resolve production or project issues quickly and professionally.
• Ensure materials and resources are available when required.
• Maintain high health & safety standards.
• Help improve processes, productivity and the overall performance of the business.
