Job summary

Hunter Bond is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join a high-impact technology team working on complex, business-critical platforms in the financial services sector.

You will design, build, test and deploy robust Java-based applications, working with event-driven architectures and large-scale data using Kafka and related technologies. You will take ownership of key technical projects and ensure data quality and auditability across critical systems.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Java, Spring/Spring Boot and SQL.
• Experience with Kafka and ideally Flink, MongoDB or other NoSQL technologies.
• Background working in financial services, ideally within regulatory reporting, risk, compliance or another highly controlled environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, product and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and deploy robust Java-based applications across critical technology platforms.
• Work with event-driven architectures and large-scale data, using technologies such as Kafka and streaming frameworks.
• Take ownership of key technical projects, influence design decisions and act as a technical point of escalation.
• Help ensure strong data quality, governance, controls and auditability across business-critical systems.
