Job summary

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Java and Spring Boot for backend services.
• Strong expertise in microservices architecture and event-driven design.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases like PostgreSQL, including schema design and data integrity.
• Proficiency in domain-driven design (DDD) is a plus.
• Strong product mindset and user-focused, with data-driven decision making.
• Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or in a team.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable services in Java/Spring Boot within a microservices architecture.
• Apply domain-driven design to build robust, scalable solutions.
• Lead development in event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar systems.
• Architect, design, and optimise PostgreSQL databases for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support partner integrations and expand the payment platform globally.
• Participate in code reviews and promote best coding practices; mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with Implementation, Solutions Engineering, Business Development, Product, and other teams to support partner integrations.
• Share domain expertise in correspondent banking during planning and cross-team sessions.
• Represent Wise Platform and promote quality across teams.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers.
