Job summary

RedRock Consulting in Leeds is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a key UK Government programme, delivering cloud-native, event-driven services and secure APIs within an AWS environment. You will build scalable components and modern digital services, collaborating with Technical Architects, Product Managers and Data Engineers to translate requirements into robust solutions.

Responsibilities

Design and develop secure, scalable cloud-native services and RESTful APIs
Build event-driven applications using asynchronous messaging technologies
Develop and implement microservices within AWS environments
Create integrations between operational systems using APIs and event-driven architectures
Apply Domain Driven Design (DDD) principles and modern software engineering practices
Build secure services using authentication and authorisation standards such as OAuth2 and JWT
Develop reusable components, libraries and engineering patterns to improve consistency across teams
Ensure solutions are resilient, observable and operationally supportable
Collaborate with architects, product teams and delivery managers to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
Contribute to engineering best practices including automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews and continuous improvement
