Job summary

Velocity Talent in Leeds is seeking five Senior Java Developers to design, build, and optimize scalable cloud-native software solutions in an Agile environment. You will write clean, secure code, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and support mission-critical enterprise systems.

This role requires 7+ years of Java (Spring Boot) experience, deep AWS expertise (ECS, S3, Lambda, SQS, Step Functions), and hands-on DevOps skills. A 24/7 on-call rotation is included in a hybrid on-site work setup.

Qualifications

7+ years of hands-on Java development experience (Spring Boot).
Extensive AWS experience deploying to AWS services (ECS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, Step Functions).
Proficiency with Karate, Gherkin, Cypress, Jest, Maven, Docker, SonarQube, and Fortify on Demand.
Strong knowledge of Groovy, Bash, CloudFormation, and Jenkins automation.
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional (or higher) is expected.
Solid understanding of the SDLC, secure coding practices, and Agile delivery.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy reusable, secure code using Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles.
Deploy and manage applications across native AWS services (ECS, S3, Lambda, SQS, Step Functions).
Maintain, fault-find, and enhance production infrastructure and service components.
Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, Groovy, and CloudFormation.
Provide L3 application support, including rotating 24/7 on-call coverage.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional Agile teams to support system integration and user-centered design.
