Job summary

Oliver Bernard is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering large-scale, cloud-native applications. You will design and develop scalable Java applications, build cloud-native solutions on AWS, and deploy containerised microservices using Kubernetes.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers and product teams, contribute to technical design and code reviews, and drive continuous improvement across development and deployment processes

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Senior Java Developers to join a high-performing engineering team delivering large-scale, cloud-native applications. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, business-critical systems using modern technologies within a collaborative Agile environment.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and developing scalable, high-performance Java applications.
• Building and maintaining cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Developing and deploying containerised microservices using Kubernetes.
• Collaborating with architects, engineers, and product teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Contributing to technical design, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Driving continuous improvement across development and deployment processes.

Essential skills

• Strong commercial experience with Java.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services.
• Proven experience with Kubernetes and containerised applications.
• Experience building microservices and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Experience with Spring Boot and related Java frameworks.
• Exposure to event-driven architectures and messaging technologies.
