Senior ITS Design & Technology Engineer

Job summary

Egis is delivering iconic UK transport projects and seeks an experienced ITS/ Technology Design professional in Leatherhead. You will lead design delivery, coordinate internal and external teams, and ensure compliance with CPS standards and budget. This role supports continuous improvement and learning across the business.

Based in the UK, the role involves collaboration with National Highways and external consultants to deliver robust technology solutions for critical infrastructure on time.

Qualifications

• Relevant vocational qualifications listed; BEng/BSc/HNC/HND desirable.
• Membership of IET or IHE.
• Working toward IEng or CEng level.
• Competent in ITS/ Technology Design and Assessment.
• Knowledge of CDM and health & safety legislation.
• Designer’s and Principal Designer duties under CDM.
• Excellent IT skills; Microsoft Office essential.
• Familiar with design standards (DMRB/MCHW/IEC).
• Knowledge of ITS/ Technology equipment (CCTV, signals, VMS, ERT, MIDAS).

Responsibilities

• Complete Technology design for ITS assets on time and to budget.
• Produce, check and certify designs and reports and deliverables.
• Assist the wider Design Team in improvements and renewal schemes.
• Deliver agreed outcomes on time and to CPS standards.
• In-house design of selected technology packages.
• Undertake optioneering and feasibility and life costing.
• Develop briefs with design team and suppliers; obtain agreement.
• Prepare and submit instructions to design suppliers.
• Contribute to the Design Review Process (Certification).
• Ensure designs meet quality standards and budgets.
