Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking an experienced Senior IT Technician based in Barnsley with travel to customer sites. You will provide 2nd/3rd line support and lead infrastructure projects across Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server and Hyper‑V environments.

You will diagnose complex incidents, mentor junior engineers, and deliver end-to-end project work at customer sites, ensuring high service quality and strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in MSP or customer-facing IT support.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows Server.
• Networking, firewalls, backup, and disaster recovery experience.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support via phone, remote access, email, and tickets.
• Escalate and diagnose complex IT incidents; act as escalation point for junior staff.
• Plan and deliver customer infrastructure projects end-to-end from scoping to handover.
• Install and support Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, Hyper‑V environments; manage networking, firewalls, backup and cyber security.
• Conduct site surveys, migrations, upgrades, and technical assessments.
• Build strong customer relationships and act as trusted technical advisor.
• Mentor junior engineers and apprentices and promote best practices.
