Job summary

East Coast College is seeking a Senior IT Technician for the Great Yarmouth campus. The role supports daily IT operations, second-line issues, and IT projects across campuses, reporting to the Systems and Network Administrator.

The ideal candidate will have Level 3 IT qualifications and at least four years of IT experience, with strong analytical skills and knowledge of Windows environments, networking, and IT support processes.

Qualifications

• Level 3 IT qualification or equivalent.
• At least four years' experience in a similar IT role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Windows desktop and server environments.
• Understanding of networking, IP infrastructure and IT support processes.

Responsibilities

• Providing first and second-line IT support to staff and students.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network issues.
• Supporting and maintaining network infrastructure, including switches, routers and firewalls.
• Assisting with IT projects, equipment deployment and network development.
• Training staff on IT systems and software.
• Producing user guides and supporting the development of junior IT Technicians.
• Ensuring compliance with IT policies, security requirements and service standards.
• Supporting teaching and learning through effective management of classroom technology and IT resources.
