Job summary

Sudlows is seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Systems Engineer to support, maintain, and develop the internal IT infrastructure across Manchester, Oldham, and remote sites. The role focuses on infrastructure administration, platform engineering, cybersecurity, automation, and project delivery.

You will collaborate with the IT Service Desk and the Infrastructure & M365 Engineer, taking ownership of infrastructure projects and continuous service improvements.

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years of IT infrastructure experience.
• Strong Windows Server administration experience.
• Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Experience with Hyper-V environments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Hybrid deployments.
• Experience supporting and migrating SQL Server, IIS and Remote Desktop Services.
• Understanding of networking tech incl. TCP/IP, switching, VLANs, WANs, VPNs.
• Familiar with patching, vulnerability remediation and backup/DR solutions.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server infrastructure.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy and access controls.
• Support and maintain Hyper-V environments.
• Lead migrations, upgrades and refresh projects.
• Support SQL Server, IIS and Remote Desktop Services environments.
• Maintain backup, DR and business continuity solutions.
• Monitor and secure servers, endpoints and platforms.
• Assist with M365 Hybrid, Azure/Entra and Intune administration.
• Support network infrastructure including switches, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, WANs.
• Contribute to Cyber Essentials Plus controls and security projects.
• Develop automation with PowerShell and admin tools.
• Produce documentation and diagrams; serve as escalation point.
• Participate in infrastructure planning and projects.
