Job summary

Sudlows in Manchester is seeking an experienced Design Manager to own and coordinate the design delivery process across data centre and critical infrastructure projects. Based at the Manchester head office, the role requires UK travel to project sites and occasional travel in Europe.

You will lead internal designers and external consultants to ensure designs are compliant, buildable and aligned with programme and commercial goals.

Qualifications

Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams on technically demanding projects.
Broad M&E knowledge with ability to review and challenge outputs.
Data centre or critical-environment experience preferred.
Strong governance, programme management, information management, leadership and communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiar with AutoCAD, Revit and BIM workflows; Chartered status desirable.

Responsibilities

Own and manage the multidisciplinary design delivery process through all project stages.
Maintain the design management plan, responsibilities matrix and information schedules.
Coordinate internal and external designers, consultants and suppliers; lead reviews and action closures.
Ensure designs are compliant, buildable, and aligned with programme and commercial goals.
Monitor design progress, risk and change; support procurement and site activities.
