Job summary

Sudlows, based in Manchester, is seeking an experienced M&E Design Lead to act as the technical authority for integrated building services across feasibility, bids, live projects and commissioning. You will lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate interfaces for power, cooling, fire, controls and monitoring, ensuring resilience and regulatory compliance.

You will drive design strategy, manage stakeholder expectations and deliver high-quality design solutions on complex data centre schemes,

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, building services or related engineering discipline.
• Substantial M&E design experience on complex projects.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary building services integration and review engineering designs.

Responsibilities

• Undertake and approve engineering design within own discipline and lead multidisciplinary M&E design through feasibility to handover.
• Define design strategy, scope and technical requirements with clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, controls, fire and specialist systems and manage interfaces and changes.
• Develop proposals and tender solutions that are compliant and practical.
• Produce and review reports, calculations, specifications and drawings.
• Lead reviews, workshops and audits and manage risks affecting safety, cost and schedule.
• Support procurement, construction and commissioning teams.
• Mentor engineers and improve design standards across the business.
