Job summary

Sudlows is seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Systems Engineer to support, maintain and develop internal IT infrastructure across Manchester and Oldham, with remote locations. You will work with the IT Service Desk, handle infrastructure administration, platform engineering, and automation while owning infrastructure projects and security improvements.

Qualifications

• Extensive IT infrastructure experience with Windows environments.
• Strong Windows Server administration and AD/GP skills.
• Experience with Hyper-V, SQL Server, and RDS environments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Hybrid deployments and Intune.
• PowerShell automation and scripting capabilities.
• Familiarity with backup, DR, and security controls.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server infrastructure.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy and access controls.
• Support and maintain Hyper-V environments.
• Lead server migrations and infrastructure upgrade projects.
• Support SQL Server, IIS and Remote Desktop Services environments.
• Maintain backup, DR and BC solutions.
• Monitor, patch and secure servers and endpoints.
• Assist with Azure/Entra ID, M365 Hybrid administration.
• Support network infrastructure including VPNs and WAN.
• Drive cybersecurity controls and vulnerability remediation.
• Contribute to Cyber Essentials Plus compliance.
• Develop automation with PowerShell and tools.
• Produce technical docs and diagrams.
• Escalation point for IT Service Desk and project delivery.
