Job summary

John Lewis plc in London is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to lead native mobile development within a cross-functional Agile team. You’ll collaborate with other engineers, BI/QA, designers and UX specialists on customer-facing projects and provide technical assurance on complex IT initiatives.

You will help shape new projects, mentor teammates, and continuously improve engineering practices while staying current with modern technologies.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in native mobile development for iOS using Swift.
• Solid knowledge of accessibility best practices and testing.
• Proficient CI/CD experience and modern mobile tooling.
• Experience with generative AI to enhance development efficiency.
• Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
• Experience with Kotlin/Java mobile development.
• Proven TDD and pair programming skills.
• Strong Agile experience (Scrum/Kanban).
• REST API development and consumption.
• MVVM and MVP architectural patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead native Android development within a cross-functional Agile team.
