Job summary

Royal London is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to grow and evolve its mobile capability. You will design, build, and deliver high-quality native Android features and enhancements, taking ownership of complex technical work and mentoring other engineers.

You will collaborate with API, platform, product, and wider tech teams to deliver reliable mobile experiences and contribute to testing, reviews, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose essential.
• Strong native Android development experience.
• Experience integrating mobile apps with backend APIs.
• Ability to write maintainable, testable code and participate in code reviews and automated testing.
• Ownership of technical delivery and mentoring of other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deliver high-quality native Android features and enhancements.
• Contribute to technical decisions and translate customer/business needs into mobile solutions.
• Support and mentor other engineers, maintaining high standards.
• Collaborate with API, platform, product and wider technology teams to deliver reliable mobile experiences.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to reviews, testing and continuous improvement.
• Champion effective Android engineering practices as our mobile capability grows.
