John Lewis Partnership seeks a Senior Android Engineer to join a cross-functional Agile team delivering customer-facing mobile experiences. You will lead Android development using Kotlin/Java, collaborating with iOS, BA, QA, design and UX to shape technical direction across projects.

You’ll mentor peers, drive quality with TDD and CI/CD, explore generative AI enhancements, and stay current with the latest Android tech. Hybrid working across UK offices is supported.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in native mobile Android development (Kotlin & Java).
• Proficient in accessibility best practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and testing approaches.
• Familiar with generative AI tools to boost development.
• Kotlin Multiplatform knowledge.
• Proven test-driven development and pairing practices.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
• Strong in REST API integration/consumption.
• Deep understanding of MVVM/MVP patterns.

Responsabilités

• Lead Android development within a cross-functional Agile team.
• Collaborate with iOS, BA, QA, Designers and UX specialists on customer-facing projects.
• Own development approach and provide technical assurance on complex IT projects.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and shape new projects.
• Continuously learn and apply new technologies to improve delivery.
