Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency in Swansea is seeking a Senior Interaction Designer to drive user-centred design across services. You will develop concepts, prototype interactions and mentor the team while collaborating with service managers and directors to meet strategic priorities.

The role focuses on leading design work with minimal supervision, embedding best practices, and delivering complex services within a Civil Service environment.

Qualifications

• Sound understanding of interaction design and prototyping from user needs.
• Experience leading design projects and implementing user-centred design.
• Strong leadership to motivate and guide teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement across levels.

Responsabilités

• Develop design concepts with service managers and programme directors to align work with strategic objectives and champion user centred design.
• Create and iterate high-fidelity prototypes for usability testing, including dynamic HTML, potentially across complex services.
• Explain design decisions, standards and restrictions to non-design stakeholders; document decisions, risks and issues and build consensus.
• Make decisions based on research and interpret findings to support future usability testing.
