Job summary

RSK LDE (Land and Development Engineering) in the Wigan area is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead the technical delivery of infrastructure projects from concept through to completion. You will collaborate with a team of industry experts to develop practical, cost-aware designs for residential and commercial developments.

The role requires strong technical and stakeholder management skills, with experience in road and sewer design, AutoCAD and PDS, and knowledge of CDM Regulations

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in civil/structural engineering or related field.
• Experience in roads, sewers and residential development design.
• AutoCAD, PDS for highway design, and ground modelling knowledge.
• Understanding of Sewers for Adoption 6th/7th Edition and CDM Regulations 2015.

Responsibilities

• Prepare infrastructure designs and drawings using AutoCAD and related software.
• Lead technical delivery from concept to completion with team collaboration.
• Mentor junior staff and assist in budget and cost control for projects.
• Liaise with Local Authorities and Drainage Authorities for approvals.
• Coordinate programme and project requirements to meet deadlines.

The Vacancy

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at LDE, an RSK Group company. This is a full time and permanent position that would suit someone who is wanting to work with a team of industry experts. LDE are a building services engineering consultancy based in the Wigan area. Formed in 2003, RSK LDE provide a complete engineering design service for residential and commercial development projects, both pre and post planning. It now has a highly experienced team made up of professional civil and structural engineering staff with many years’ experience in the assessment, design and construction of major development projects.

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of the technical delivery of infrastructure design projects, providing expert engineering guidance from concept through to completion. The successful candidate will possess excellent technical, commercial and stakeholder management skills, enabling them to develop innovative and practical solutions for clients and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Understand fee preparation and project cost budgets whilst assisting in mentoring and managing more junior members of staff
• Prepare infrastructure designs and technical drawings using AutoCAD and other industry-standard software.
• Work collaboratively within the design team to deliver projects to agreed timescales and quality standards.
• Liaise with Local Authorities and Drainage Authorities to secure approvals for adoptable works (Sections 104, 38 and 278).
• Coordinate programme, communication and project requirements to support successful project delivery.
• Undertake engineering calculations and designs in accordance with current standards, codes of practice and industry best practice.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant degree or HNC qualification.
• Demonstratable experience in drawing production and the design of roads, sewers and residential developments.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, PDS for highway design and ground modelling and CIRIA SuDS Manual
• Understand and implement Designer’s duties under the CDM Regulations 2015.
• Working knowledge of Sewers for Adoption 6th/7th Edition
