Qualifications

• MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc Hons in Civil or Civil and Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with IStructE/ICE or similar institution.
• Proven experience with design software tools (TEDDS, S-Frame, Tekla, REVIT, AutoCAD).
• Strong project management skills and track record of delivering projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead contact for projects; managing client, design team and site interactions.
• Carry out site inspections and surveys to support design development and quality assurance.
• Liaise with stakeholders to ensure project delivery aligns with regulatory and commercial objectives.
• Budget and produce fee proposals and bids for work up to £75,000.
• Produce and review design using a range of structural engineering software packages.
• Prepare reports and calculation packages for key project stages and statutory submissions.

The Vacancy

We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at LDE, an RSK Group company. This is a full time and permanent position that would suit someone who is wanting to work with a team of industry experts. LDE are a building services engineering consultancy based in the Hemel Hempstead area. Formed in 2003, RSK LDE provide a complete engineering design service for residential and commercial development projects, both pre and post planning. It now has a highly experienced team made up of professional civil and structural engineering staff with many years’ experience in the assessment, design and construction of major development projects. We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to independently manage projects, deliver high-quality structural designs and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical knowledge, commercial awareness and a passion for supporting the growth and development of junior engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the lead contact for projects; managing client, design team and site interactions.
• Carry out site inspections and surveys to support design development and quality assurance.
• Liaise with stakeholders to ensure project delivery aligns with regulatory and commercial objectives.
• By having a clear understanding of project finances, be able to budget and produce fee proposals and bids for work up to £75,000.
• Produce and review design using a range of structural engineering software packages.
• Prepare reports and calculation packages for key project stages and statutory submissions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc Hons in Civil or Civil and Structural Engineering
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with membership of IStructE, ICE, or another relevant engineering institution.
• Demonstratable experience in design software tools (e.g., TEDDS, S-Frame, Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Fastrack Suite, REVIT, Robot, Infodrainage/Causeway Flow, AutoCAD LT).
• Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery
