Lightning AI is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team. You will build production software and automation for managing thousands of servers, storage systems, and high-performance networks, enabling scalable AI/ML workloads.

You will work across teams to provision, monitor, and decommission infrastructure, with a focus on reliability, observability, and scalable operations. The role supports a hybrid model with London or remote US options.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Strong Python and Linux production experience.
• Experience building APIs, tooling, or automation for large-scale infrastructure.
• Familiarity with containerization concepts and HPC/bare-metal provisioning.
• Experience in startup or fast-paced environments with ownership.
• Experience with network hardware and storage systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production services and automation for large-scale bare-metal and GPU infrastructure.
• Develop tooling to provision, monitor, and manage infrastructure at scale.
• Build reliable automation to reduce manual operations and improve scalability.
• Create interfaces for engineers to interact with physical infrastructure.
