Job summary

Lightning AI seeks a Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer to join the Infrastructure Engineering team. You will build production software and automation for large-scale GPU and bare-metal infrastructure, provisioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management, and interact with thousands of servers and networks to improve reliability and scalability.

Qualifications

8+ years of professional software or infrastructure engineering experience.
Strong backend software engineering in Python and production Linux.
Experience building APIs, tooling, or automation for large-scale infra.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration concepts.
Understanding of HPC and bare-metal infrastructure fundamentals.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver reliable long-term solutions.
Experience in startup or fast-paced environments with ownership.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate production services and automation for large-scale infra.
Develop tooling to provision, configure, monitor, and manage infrastructure lifecycle.
Create reliable automation reducing manual work and improving scalability.
Build interfaces for engineers and systems to interact with physical infra.
Collaborate with Network, Data Center, and Platform teams on requirements.
Document designs and contribute to engineering best practices.
