Lightning AI seeks a Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer to join the Infrastructure Engineering team. You will build production software and automation for large-scale GPU and bare-metal infrastructure, provisioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management, and interact with thousands of servers and networks to improve reliability and scalability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Strong backend software engineering in Python and production Linux.
• Experience building APIs, tooling, or automation for large-scale infra.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration concepts.
• Understanding of HPC and bare-metal infrastructure fundamentals.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver reliable long-term solutions.
• Experience in startup or fast-paced environments with ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production services and automation for large-scale infra.
• Develop tooling to provision, configure, monitor, and manage infrastructure lifecycle.
• Create reliable automation reducing manual work and improving scalability.
• Build interfaces for engineers and systems to interact with physical infra.
• Collaborate with Network, Data Center, and Platform teams on requirements.
• Document designs and contribute to engineering best practices.
