Lightning AI, headquartered in London, seeks an experienced Platform Engineer to partner with customers, architect, build, and deploy production AI systems on our Lightning Platform. You will work with customer engineering teams to deliver scalable, observable systems that meet performance and cost constraints.

Qualifications

• Broad full-stack software engineering experience with modern frontend (React/TypeScript) and backend (Python/Go)
• Direct customer-facing experience in technical roles
• Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines and model deployment
• Experience deploying production AI/ML systems in cloud or distributed environments
• Knowledge of AI infrastructure/tools like Docker, Kubernetes, APIs, and inference workloads
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions in fast-moving environments
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy end-to-end AI systems on Lightning's platform
• Translate customer objectives into technical specifications and scalable solutions
• Own engagements from discovery through deployment and monitoring
• Develop production-grade software with emphasis on Python
• Build observable, low-latency, cost-efficient production systems
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve platform capabilities
• Navigate ambiguity with sound technical judgment
