Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an experienced Senior ICT Technician focused on networking and security to maintain secure, resilient network services supporting our operational and corporate teams.

You will provide third-line expertise across networking and security, act as a senior escalation point, mentor ICT colleagues and collaborate with cyber security partners to improve service capability.

Qualifications

• Experience in ICT technical support environment and troubleshooting complex network issues.
• Structured, methodical approach to problem solving and teamwork.
• Ability to mentor ICT colleagues and promote standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior oversight for LAN, WAN, wireless, firewall, VPN, DNS and DHCP.
• Investigate complex network faults and assist in recovery.
• Coordinate routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and changes.
• Support secure configuration, performance, and resilience with security team.
• Maintain configuration records, diagrams, runbooks and recovery docs.
• Contribute to projects and mentor ICT staff.
• Participate in 24-hour operational support including occasional off-hours.
