Job summary

South Wales Police, based at the Headquarters in Bridgend, Wales, is seeking an ICT Senior Network Engineer to design, implement and maintain robust network infrastructure for a 24/7 emergency policing service and its external partners.

You will work within the ICT Department to ensure secure, resilient connectivity, manage major routing protocols, and support Cisco/Meraki environments with a focus on business continuity and rapid response to incidents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in ICT or related subject.
• CCNP certification or demonstrable equivalent networking skills.
• Experience designing, installing, configuring and managing on‑premises network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Implement network security including firewalls and IDS/IPS.
• Maintain network architecture with Cisco routers/switches and ASA/Firepower firewalls.
• Manage Meraki firewalls and SD‑WAN appliances.
• Assist with Cisco AnyConnect VPN/NAM/ISE implementations and maintenance.
• Support CISCO ACI network implementation and maintenance.
• Manage routing protocols such as EIGRP and OSPF.
• Support capacity planning and upgrades across LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi/Data Centre.
