Job summary
South Wales Police is seeking an ICT Senior Network Engineer to design, implement and maintain critical network infrastructure at the Bridgend site. The role supports 24/7 emergency policing services and external partners with a strong emphasis on security and reliability.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in ICT or equivalent, CCNP or equivalent experience, and hands-on expertise with Cisco/ Meraki technologies, VPN/NAM/ISE, and data center networking.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in ICT/Networking.
- CCNP or equivalent networking certifications are preferred.
- Experience designing and managing on-premises network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Implement network security configurations (firewalls, IDS/IPS, ACLs).
- Maintain network architecture with Cisco routers/switches and ASA/Firepower firewalls.
- Manage Meraki firewalls and SD-WAN appliances.
- Assist with VPN/NAM/ISE maintenance.
- Support CISCO ACI network implementations.
- Monitor routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF) and network capacity.
