Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR is seeking a Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer - ICT to lead design and development of communications systems for the SMR operational network. You will craft system architectures, specify ICT equipment, and ensure secure, reliable ICT solutions across telephony, radio and data networks.

Qualifications

• Experience across the design and implementation lifecycle of communication and information systems.
• Experience in regulated, safety-critical or security-sensitive industries such as Nuclear/Defence/Aerospace.
• Strong understanding of voice and telephony systems and UC platforms.
• Knowledge of LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi and data centre networking.
• Understanding of cybersecurity and industrial communication standards (IEC 62443).

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of Communication and Information Systems across the SMR programme.
• Develop system architectures, including network architectures and supporting infrastructure.
• Deliver telephony, radio, broadcast communication and data network solutions.
• Define system requirements, specifications and implementation strategies.
• Coordinate ICT equipment selection, integration and secure operation.
• Provide technical oversight and mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with Security, IT and engineering teams across the organisation.
