Job summary

Rolls‑Royce SMR is seeking a Head of C&I Systems Design & Implementation to lead the EC&I systems development, verification, and governance across the programme. You will drive MBSE adoption, ensure integration of hardware, software and interfaces, and coordinate with regulators and partners to deliver safe, secure, and high‑quality systems.

You will shape strategic delivery plans, manage a high‑performing team, and develop future leaders while operating within a highly regulated nuclear

Qualifications

• Degree in Control & Instrumentation, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or eligible for chartership.
• Extensive experience delivering complex safety-related systems in regulated environments.
• Strong leadership across integrated system architectures and MBSE.

Responsibilities

• Lead the EC&I Systems Design & Implementation function across the organisation.
• Define and maintain integrated C&I implementation strategies and baselines.
• Ensure interfaces are fully integrated and controlled across hardware, software and networks.
• Govern system architecture, deployment strategies and baselining.
• Lead requirements traceability, verification and validation planning.
• Champion MBSE and digital engineering practices within the team.
• Maintain robust configuration management and technical governance.
• Ensure nuclear safety, cybersecurity and regulatory requirements are embedded.
• Support licensing activities and regulator engagement.
• Develop strategic delivery plans aligning resources with programme demands.
