Job summary

Join AECOM’s Water team as an Associate Hydrologist, based in the UK or Ireland with a flexible hybrid working model. You’ll lead hydrological assessments for flood risk management and infrastructure planning, mentoring others and engaging with clients on national and international projects.

This senior role combines technical leadership, project oversight and collaboration across disciplines, with opportunities to drive innovation and AI-enabled solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, or related discipline.
• Evidence of significant experience (15+ years) in flood flow estimation using FEH/REFH2.
• Strong understanding of statistical hydrology analyses.

Responsibilities

• Technically lead or verify flood hydrological assessments for flood schemes and reservoir engineering.
• Review reports documenting hydrological assessments.
• Support business development for national and international projects.
• Mentor staff in hydrological estimation for professional development.
• Build relationships with clients and across disciplines.
• Stay updated on legislation affecting our services.
