Job summary

Deploy Recruitment Group seeks an experienced Protection and Control Design Engineer to lead HV protection and control designs for substation projects. You will develop and validate protection, control, and SCADA designs, ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance while mentoring junior engineers.

Role involves coordinating with project managers and clients, delivering from concept to detailed engineering, and providing technical support during delivery and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in UK electricity distribution or transmission protection design.
• Knowledge of ENA, IEC and NPg standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed protection applications for feeders, transformers and busbars from 11 kV–132 kV.
• Configure relays, create setting files, and implement IEC 61850 and DNP3 communication schemes.
• Prepare protection coordination studies and settings calculations.
• Provide technical reviews of designs from ICPs and external teams.
• Support project delivery through factory acceptance testing and site commissioning.
