Job summary

Deploy Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Protection and Control Design Engineer to lead HV substation protection projects in the UK. You will develop, validate, and integrate protection, control and SCADA designs, guiding junior engineers within a multidisciplinary team.

The role covers 11 kV–132 kV schemes including BESS, with responsibilities from concept through detailed engineering and delivery support, while working in a hybrid or remote setup.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven ability in control and protection design within UK electricity distribution or transmission (11kV–132kV).
• Strong analytical and communication skills; adept at reading schematics and settings schedules.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed protection application designs for feeders, transformers and busbars from 11 kV to 132 kV.
• Configure relays, setting files and IEC 61850/DNP3 schemes; prepare logic documentation.
• Conduct protection coordination studies and produce settings calculations and drawings.
