Job summary

JL Renewable Solutions is seeking an experienced HV Project Manager to lead high-voltage infrastructure projects in South Wales, including substations, BESS and grid connections. You will drive planning, mobilization, construction, commissioning and delivery, ensuring safety, on-time performance and budget adherence.

The role focuses on managing programmes, budgets and resources while coordinating electrical engineers, site teams and subcontractors to meet client and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within electrical infrastructure, HV substations, power distribution or grid connections.
• Experience with 33kV-132kV infrastructure is preferred.
• Experience delivering HV substations, underground cabling, BESS or related electrical works.
• Background working with ICPs, DNOs, electrical contractors or utilities.
• Experience managing subcontractors, project teams and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness including budgets, cost control, and risk management.
• Experience using Primavera P6 or similar planning software.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to own projects and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of HV infrastructure projects (substations, BESS, grid connections).
• Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and commercial performance.
• Coordinate electrical engineers, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Develop and manage programmes using Primavera P6 or similar tools.
• Monitor progress and implement recovery plans if needed.
• Oversee HV switchgear, transformers and related infrastructure delivery.
• Maintain relationships with clients, DNOs and other stakeholders.
• Manage risks, variations and contractual requirements.
• Ensure health, safety, environmental and quality standards are met.
• Maintain project documentation and progress reports.
