Job summary

M Group Energy is seeking a Project Manager to lead HV substation projects for National Grid in the South Wales region. The role requires regular site visits 3-4 times a week and a valid UK driving licence.

You will manage end-to-end delivery, drive safety and environmental standards, and ensure projects meet time, cost, and quality targets while coordinating with planning, design, and commercial teams.

Qualifications

• National Grid Substation build experience and NG rules experience.
• Design and Build project leadership across cross-functional teams.
• Stakeholder management with clients and suppliers.
• Qualification in construction/engineering or equivalent experience.
• PM certification such as APM or PMP is desirable.
• Strong NEC contract and risk/opportunity management.
• Regulatory knowledge including HSWA/CDM/EAWR.
• Life cycle project delivery and budget control.
• Experience using project management software.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel across sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction teams from initiation to completion.
• Drive health, safety and environmental standards.
• Deliver projects on time, to cost and to quality.
• Coordinate with planning to maintain delivery programmes.
• Foster cohesive leadership across Construction, Commercial, Design and Engineering.
• Support tender bids with industry knowledge.
• Prepare CVR with Commercial Manager.
