AECOM is seeking a Principal Cable System Design Engineer to lead high‑voltage cable projects in our Transmission & Distribution team in the UK. You will drive technical excellence, coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, and mentor engineers across major infrastructure programs.

In this senior role, you’ll shape design standards, support client engagement, and ensure safe, compliant delivery across projects from concept to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a technical leader in HV/EHV cable system design.
• Proven track record in design, specification, and installation of complex cable systems.
• Understanding of UK and international standards (National Grid TPs, IEC, CIGRÉ).

Responsabilités

• Lead delivery of large HV/EHV cable projects from concept to completion.
• Develop and oversee HV cable system designs for routing, burial, and performance modelling.
• Provide input on installation methods, jointing, cleating, and system integration.
