Job summary

AECOM is seeking experienced Senior Cable System Design Engineers for our Transmission & Distribution team in London. You will deliver full lifecycle cable engineering from feasibility through to commissioning, collaborating with clients and internal teams on onshore projects.

The role requires FEED experience, familiarity with IEC/CIGRÉ standards, and tools such as CYMCAP, WinCable, AutoCAD, Revit and GIS. Hybrid work and cross-disciplinary coordination are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• FEED experience essential for HV/EHV projects.
• Onshore cable routing, burial risk assessments and protection.
• Knowledge of IEC, CIGRÉ and NG-TP standards; hardware integration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver full lifecycle cable engineering packages from feasibility to commissioning.
• Review HV cable system designs including route, burial, thermal and EMI aspects.
• Perform ampacity, short circuit, thermal stability, EMI analyses.
• Support installation, FAT/SAT and interface with manufacturers.
