Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (HV Cable Design) to join our Transmission & Distribution team. You will design and integrate high-voltage cable systems for onshore and offshore projects, working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex engineering problems related to transmission power cable systems.
• Good written communication skills including report writing.
• Excellent communication and people skills.

Responsibilities

• HVAC/HVDC cable system design for onshore and offshore projects from concept to construction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cables into substations and grid networks.
• Perform feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost analyses for transmission projects.
• Deliver FEED and design for cable systems in major infrastructure programs.
• Engage with civil and environmental teams to meet consenting requirements.
• Support tender and detail design from concept to construction documentation.
• Troubleshoot cable-related issues during installation and operation.
