Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc are seeking a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join our Regional Buildings Team on a Defence Project near Reading. The role supports the project to achieve Zero Harm by providing on-site HS&W guidance, inspections, and training across BB teams and supply chain.

Essential qualifications include NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and a full UK driving licence, with security clearance required for site access. The position offers hybrid working and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent in Health and Safety management.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience in a health and safety role, preferably in Construction/M&E projects.
• Ability to undertake causational analysis of accidents and incidents.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with training delivery at all staff levels.
• Site access requires security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible, on-site HS&W advice and support to the Project.
• Carry out regular site inspections and targeted inspections to ensure compliance with BB procedures and corrective actions.
• Promote and deliver the Zero-Harm agenda.
• Assist in incident reporting, root-cause analysis and lessons learned for the supply chain.
• Monitor mandatory safety training within BB and the Supply Chain.
• Analyse safety statistics to compare subcontractor performance and discuss KPIs with safety representatives.
• Review RAMS, competencies, and the Construction Phase Plan.
• Produce formal project reports on HS&W inspections and performance.
