Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor to monitor and input across design to delivery on our major UK contracts. You will lead incident investigations, develop risk-based controls, and deliver HSW training and coaching to project teams.

The role requires NEBOSH-level qualifications, strong legal and practical HSW knowledge, and a proactive approach to promoting a positive safety culture with a relentless focus on Zero Harm.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Certificate / National Compliance & Risk Qualification equivalent.
• Competence in incident investigation.
• Demonstrable experience in a health and safety advisory role.
• Strong HSW legal knowledge and practical application.
• Experience in delivery of HSW training.
• Proven ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture.
• Demonstrate ability to develop and implement risk free environment using best work practices and innovations.
• Assist the organisation for achieving sustainable delivery.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and provide HSW input from design through to implementation.
• Deliver planned site inspections and pre-work risk assessments.
• Review, track and trend unplanned events and support investigations.
• Provide liaison with clients and contractors by attending meetings and other events.
• Prepare written reports following site visits, inspections, audits and investigations.
• Ensure compliance to the Safety Management System (iSMS) and ISO requirements.
• Deliver HSES coaching and mentoring to core and project teams.
• Promote a positive health and safety culture and zero-harm focus.
