Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc in the UK is seeking a Senior Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to lead a team of three HS&W Advisors across projects in Wales, the North Wessex Downs and London, with weekly travel. The base is flexible and the role is hybrid with site visits and regional travel.

You will provide expert HS&W guidance, embed a Zero Harm culture, analyse performance data and support design, bids and project delivery across the business.

Qualifications

• On-site health and safety qualifications with site experience.
• Willingness to travel with full driving licence.
• Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety Regulations.
• Ability to influence safety culture across levels.
• Experience in project planning and budgeting.
• Competence in incident investigation.
• Ability to prepare formal HS&W reports.
• Commitment to continuous learning and value to customers.
• Experience on complex construction and civil projects.
• Experience supervising teams (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of three H&S Advisors.
• Provide expert HS&W advice to project teams.
• Engage with internal and external customers and supply chain.
• Agree service level agreements per project and review quarterly.
• Conduct site inspections and report findings.
• Ensure risk management processes address hazards and opportunities.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Support bids with HS&W responses.
• Collaborate with design and engineering to reduce HS&W risks.
• Mentor other HS&W colleagues.
