Job summary

Sheffield Hallam University is seeking a high-performing Senior Advisor to join the Human Resources and Organisational Development Directorate, within the Resourcing and Reward Team. You will advise on complex reward matters, including job evaluation, grading structures, pay reviews, benchmarking and benefits, while upholding customer service excellence and regulatory compliance.

Job description

Grade 7 - £39,906 to £44,746 per annum (pro rata) depending on experience

Sheffield Hallam University has an ambitious and challenging people agenda and we are looking for a high-performing, future-focused Senior Advisor to join the Human Resources and Organisational Development Directorate as part of our Resourcing and Reward Team.

You will be responsible for providing specialist advice on a range of complex reward issues. Significant experience of a range of reward and recognition mechanisms is therefore essential, including job evaluation methodologies, grading structures, managing annual pay review cycles, benchmarking analysis and benefit programmes.

You should also demonstrate a commitment to customer service excellence, delivering a consistent and professional service, whilst maintaining compliance within regulatory and procedural frameworks.

You will be expected to develop effective working relationships across the wider team and Directorate, sharing best practice and knowledge, working together to promote a consistently high-quality service offer.

You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country.

If you are, or have been, a recent member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly prior to joining us, you can choose to opt out of the LGPS and remain in the USS. Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.
