Job summary

Pertemps Scotland Perms is supporting an client in appointing an experienced HR Adviser to join their People team on a 12-week fixed-term contract, with possible extension. You will provide pragmatic HR advice to line managers and manage ER cases from enquiry to resolution, ensuring compliance with employment law and policies.

You will coach managers, help build confidence, and contribute to policy improvements while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in an HR Adviser or HR generalist role.
• Strong Employee Relations experience - critical.
• Experience advising managers on disciplinary, grievance and capability matters.
• Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience managing an HR/ER caseload from initial advice through to resolution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence to provide constructive challenge and advice to managers.
• Strong coaching and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, accurate and pragmatic HR advice and guidance to line managers.
• Manage and support a varied caseload of Employee Relations matters, ensuring cases are handled appropriately and within agreed timescales.
• Provide advice and support across areas including disciplinary, grievance and capability cases.
• Ensure HR cases are accurately recorded and kept up to date throughout the case lifecycle.
• Provide guidance to managers on employment legislation, HR policies and procedures.
• Coach and support line managers to improve their confidence and effectiveness in managing people matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR policies, procedures, processes and manager guidance.
