Pertemps Edinburgh Contracts seeks an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join a busy People team in Edinburgh for a six-month, full-time contract. You will advise on conduct, capability and absence, with daily rate of £325.

  • Proven experience within an employee relations or HR advisory environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations best practice.
  • Experience managing complex ER casework (disciplinary, grievance, attendance, performance).
  • Experience developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Excellent written communication with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyse information and make balanced, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building at all levels.
  • Customer-focused approach with a high-quality HR service.

  • Analyse HR data and trends to support decision-making and case resolution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve policies, procedures, and ways of working.

Based in Edinburgh, this full-time Employee Relations Advisor contract runs for six months, paying £325 per day. You will join a busy People team, handling a varied portfolio of casework while contributing to policy refinement. Responsibilities include advising managers on conduct, capability, and absence issues, ensuring alignment with current legislation. You will also review procedures, support continuous improvement, and liaise with employee representatives. The role demands strong stakeholder management, balanced decision-making, and up-to-date employment law knowledge. Our client is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join a busy People team for 6 months , providing expert advice and support across a wide range of employee relations matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys balancing complex case management with policy development and continuous improvement initiatives. You will manage a varied portfolio of employee relations cases, ensuring matters are handled fairly, consistently, and in line with employment legislation and organisational policies. Alongside casework, you will play a key role in reviewing, developing, and implementing HR policies and procedures that support organisational goals and best practice. Working closely with managers, stakeholders, and employee representatives, you will provide pragmatic advice and contribute to a positive employee experience through effective people management practices.

About You

  • Qualifications Chartered CIPD membership, working towards CIPD accreditation, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
