Job summary

Pertemps Edinburgh Contracts seeks an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join a busy People team in Edinburgh for a six-month, full-time contract. You will advise on conduct, capability and absence, with daily rate of £325.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within an employee relations or HR advisory environment.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations best practice.
• Experience managing complex ER casework (disciplinary, grievance, attendance, performance).
• Experience developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
• Excellent written communication with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to analyse information and make balanced, evidence-based recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building at all levels.
• Customer-focused approach with a high-quality HR service.

Responsibilities

• Manage a range of employee relations cases, including attendance, disciplinary, grievance, and performance matters.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on complex people issues.
• Conduct research and benchmarking against employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Review existing HR policies and draft updates and new policies where required.
• Develop supporting documentation, guidance materials, templates, and implementation resources.
• Work collaboratively with employee representatives and key stakeholders to gather feedback and support successful policy implementation.
• Analyse HR data and trends to support decision-making and case resolution.
• Identify opportunities to improve policies, procedures, and ways of working.
