Job summary

Vertage is seeking an experienced HR Advisor (Employee Relations) to join our People Team in Manchester. In a fast-paced environment you’ll manage complex ER matters, provide pragmatic advice to managers and stakeholders, and help shape people strategy across multiple business areas.

This role combines hands-on casework with coaching, TUPE guidance, and change initiatives, including restructures and redundancies, while ensuring compliance with UK employment law.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing complex Employee Relations casework independently.
• Redundancy experience with consultation processes and organisational change activities.
• Experience supporting TUPE transfers from planning to implementation.
• Excellent knowledge of UK employment legislation.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities while delivering a high‑quality advisory service.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience supporting multiple worker populations or employment types.

Responsibilities

• Managing a broad range of Employee Relations cases from start to finish.
• Advising on disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence management and flexible working matters.
• Supporting organisational change initiatives, including restructures and redundancy programmes.
• Providing expert guidance on TUPE transfers and consultation processes.
• End to end management of ACAS early conciliation cases, including COT3 agreements.
• Building effective relationships with managers and stakeholders to drive positive employee relations outcomes.
• Delivering practical, legally compliant advice in line with employment legislation and company policies.
• Supporting manager capability through coaching and training.
