Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking an experienced HR professional to join the People Services team as a generalist HR advisor. You will work with senior leaders, providing expert HR support and driving interventions that help achieve objectives while promoting equality and inclusion.

The role encompasses organisational change, restructures, and TUPE transfers, with advice on redundancy, disciplinary, grievance, capability, and attendance management.

Qualifications

• Degree-level professional qualification in HR or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Broad-based HR experience in a large, unionised organisation with knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Strong influencing, communication and problem-solving skills; proven track record in HR delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert generalist HR support to senior leaders and managers.
• Deliver interventions that help managers achieve objectives and promote equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Support organisational change, including restructures and TUPE transfers, and advise on complex HR issues (redundancy, disciplinary, grievance, capability, attendance).
• Interpret employment legislation, policies and procedures and implement practical solutions.
